Today I will discuss Partnership Marketing.
This is the target for most brokers, creating referral relationships where you get a real estate agent, builder, financial planner, accountant, etc, to refer their clients to you. You might do this formally or informally, but ultimately your goal is to get them to market you.
The problem is, most brokers are missing the ‘partnership’ part of partnership marketing.
Its not enough to just ask for referrals and say what a good job you will do. The other party want you to support their business in return and help them get clients too.
We have been very successful at using co-branded versions of ‘The 7 Easy Steps to Mortgage Freedom’ – what I call ‘Partner Versions’ – to create and sustain partnership marketing that actually works and produces referrals and loyal partners.
I have personally walked into 10 real estate agencies and set up 7 of them with co-branded versions of my book. All of those agents had brokers they were referring to already. Many of the brokers with me have now had similar results and have started new, mutually profitable relationships using my book.
Real Estate Agents want more listings, Builders want more homes to build, Financial Planners want more clients, Accountants want more tax work to do. That is what your co-branded version of my book gives to them – what they actually want, not just what you want.
In fact, the only thing I have found that beats my book is you actively referring your clients to them.

It is a lot easier handing an agent a co-branded example of The 7 Easy Steps where you can simply point out where their picture and contact details will go than trying to explain why you are a smarter broker than the other five brokers they spoke with this month.
If you seriously want an advantage in the area of partnership marketing, I can give it to a limited number of mortgage brokers. Once we are working with enough referral partners in a single area, we can’t take on any more.
